My client is a dynamic and highly successful trust, with both the ambition and strength to create a lasting difference, serving its local community. The trust is looking to strengthen its internal structures with the appointment of a knowledgeable enthusiastic and hands-on generalist with robust ER and operational experience, as well as strong influencing and negotiation skills, to join the team as a HR Manager. With the confidence to hit the ground running, as a HR Manager you will have responsibility for working with the Senior Leadership Teams and School Business Managers to provide HR expertise, advice and guidance, ensuring legal compliance and consistency. As an experienced and credible HR professional with a track record of managing and delivering a generalist HR service in the education sector, you will be expected to advise and support managers on the application of HR policies and processes relating to recruitment, capability, discipline, grievance, sickness absence and job evaluation, as well as manage payroll processes. You will also be expected to contribute to the growth of the Trusts systems, policies and procedures and develop and sustain an up to date library of document templates for use by all schools. You will take a lead role on HR projects, plan and implement new HR initiatives.Furthermore, the role has scope to develop the team size as the Trust looks to expansion plans in the future. Experience in the education sector is highly advantageous, but applicants from a suitable public sector background would be considered. Previous experience of direct line management would be advantageous, but the role would also suit someone who has some previous supervising experience who is looking to take on amplified direct line-management experience. Formal CIPD studies are essential. Working with numerous stakeholders, the HR Manager will naturally be affable and approachable and able to engage others effectively. They must also be able to demonstrate their ability to challenge and influence others effectively, prioritising the needs of the organisation in balance with the needs of individuals, while maintaining positive professional relationships with stakeholders.Farrer Barnes Ltd does not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, gender, disability, creed or sexual orientation and complies with all relevant UK legislation.
